Coaches comments: The 1st round of rugby for the season started against tournament favourites, Redfield OB. The 2nds kicked off first with a gritty back and forth battle; lineouts were on point, crucial tackles being made, and morale was high from kick off to final whistle. Unfortunately, we were unable to capitalize on our possession and went down by less than a try. MotM-Jim Vuniwa. Siyang Yu

Coaches comments: Our 1st grade faced a very formidable opposition that looked like they had been playing together for years. We kept the match within arm’s length throughout the 80 mins through sheer determination, individual brilliance, and hard runs. However, we were just unable to settle into a flow state to set up our structures and were handed our first loss of the season.

The step up in competition was a great learning opportunity. It exposed, and allowed us to identify, key areas that we can work on. Equally, the tight scores highlight and reinforce the fact that we can go toe to toe with the best of them. MotM-Michael Burton. Siyang Yu
