Coaches Comments: The women had their first hit out of the year and took the first half to dust off a few of the cob webs. After a huge recruitment push and a change of game plans, we were able to run in 2 tries and hold the strong Orange team scoreless in the second half. It was not enough to chase down the head start we gave them, ending up losing 26-10. Daniel Hawkins

Coaches Comments: The women played their first game of tens directly after our first 7s trial. With not much practise heading into the trial, and no one on the team with prior 10s experience, we held our own in the first half. A run away try from Lucy lead to a nervous half time for the seasoned Orange team as we were only trailing by a try at the break. After holding off attacking raids for a significant part of the second half, including fantastic try saving tackles from Zoe, Chip, and Tara, Orange eventually proved too strong in the 10s format, displaying their awareness around the rucks. Coaches Comments: Orange graciously hosted us with this tour, and we were blessed with the weather clearing up just in time. The trial game was broken into 4 quarters, and we used the opportunity to test various player pairings and setups. Essentially, we lost the 1st and 3rd quarters, but drew the 2nd quarter and won the 4th quarter (5-15, 12-22, 12-41, 22-44). As most players were playing either in the 1st half or 2nd half, this showed that we were improving as we settled in, but also that we were lagging out the gate. Despite the final score, we learned a lot from the match, and the boys enjoyed themselves both on the field and off the field. Man of the match goes to Amerul Badrul. Siyang Yu
